Professor Li Hongliang from our hospital made a breakthrough in liver metabolism research

February 21, the international top magazine Nature Medicine (IF = 30.357) published online the latest research results of Li Hongliang, professor of cardiovascular medicine from our hospital. This study revealed for the first time a key negative control effect of a natural immune important molecule CFLAR in the course of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), elaborated its molecular mechanism, and demonstrated important clinical significance in prevention and treatment of NASH.

The paper titled Targeting CASP8 and FADD-like apoptosis regulator ameliorates nonalcoholic steatohepatitis in mice and nonhuman primates. The doctoral student Wang Pixiao, postdoctoral scholars Zhang Xiaojing and Ji Yanxiao are the co-first authors of this paper. Professor Li Hongliang is the corresponding author. Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University is the unit of first and corresponding author.
